Our mixers match it to the factory formula and let you know when it's ready.
Where to find your paint code
Your paint code is printed on the vehicle information sticker, usually in the driver's door jamb. On some vehicles it's under the hood, in the glove box or in the trunk under the mat. Look for a label such as PAINT, C/TR, EXT PNT or COLOR.
- Toyota / Lexus: 3 characters after C/TR, e.g. 1G3
- Honda / Acura: starts with letters, e.g. NH700M
- Ford / Lincoln: 2 characters after EXT PNT, e.g. YZ
- GM: starts with WA or a 3-character code, e.g. GAZ
- Kia / Hyundai: 2 to 3 characters after PAINT, e.g. SWP
Questions
+What is a tricoat?
Some pearl whites and reds need three layers: a base colour, a pearl mid-coat and clearcoat. We flag tricoat colours automatically from the paint code and mix every step.
+Basecoat or single stage?
Most modern vehicles use basecoat, which needs a clearcoat on top. Single stage has colour and gloss in one and is common on older vehicles and commercial fleets.
+What does reduced mean?
Reduced paint is thinned and ready to spray straight from a gun. If you're not sure, choose reduced.
+My colour isn't listed. Can I still order?
Yes. Enter your paint code and order it anyway. Our mixers will look it up or colour match it for you.
+How do I know when my order is ready?
You get a reference number when you order. Use it on the order status page to see where your paint is.
